7A- Testing the hypothesis 1. My venture that i would like to pursue would be live feed video on an app that gives live updates of the lines at midtown. Everyone hates lines and would rather periodically check the cameras to see when it is short and then go rather then go in blind and wait for hours. 2. This app would be primarily for college students above the age of 21 that spend their nights at midtown bars or downtown bars. What would it do? it would allow live feed of the lines, like some surfers do to check the waves, to see when the right time to go is and where is easiest to get in. Why? because lines are one of my least favorite things to deal with and i felt like there was an easy fix to the problem. By staggering the traffic of students going into the bar rather than all at once it would eliminate most of the line. 3. I would test this idea by marketing to college students just like myself and have my friends and brothers in my fraternity try the app and let the word o...
6A- Identifying Opportunities 1)     One opportunity in the economic sector is an opportunity to create a new crop using technology that is more resilient to disease and grows faster. Another opportunity in the economic sector is to increase the amount of renewable energy use in farms. An opportunity related to regulatory change is to design a new formula 1 car that is more efficient on gas used due to the changing regulation on gas tank size. Another opportunity is to start a cannabis delivery service in California. 2)     I found this opportunity when considering the growing needs of food production and that many crops have been struggling with disease. This opportunity exists because a more resilient fast-growing crop will increase farmers profits. The prototypical customer is a farmer. It is a relatively difficult opportunity to exploit that will] require a lot of scientific research. 2- I found this opportunity when reading an a...
4A- forming an opportunity belief Over my time at the University of Florida I have noticed one flaw that is reoccurring for most students. Yes, going to college is about getting a good education, building an appealing resume and setting yourself up for the future but all of that stress needs to be released somehow. Most students of age go to Midtown bars to have a good time and drink with their friends but the main problem with midtown, do to high consumer demand, is the lines are 50 plus minutes long. I would solve this problem by putting cameras by the front door that would live stream through an app allowing people to view the length of the line at any time so they can just view the line and see when its shorter rather than waiting in it. I discovered this idea because i grew up surfing and there is certain apps and websites that allow you to check the waves rather than wait at the beach all day. I pitched this idea to a friend at class, a roommate and a home town friend. My class...
3A- My entrepreneurship story I have always been interested in entrepreneurship ever since around early highschool. I read articles and stories about Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos and was instantly hooked. One of my close friends and I were really fascinated by business owners and wanted to hear their story and learn from their life experiences. Going into our senior year we decided to pitch the start of an entrepreneurship club to the school board. They loved the idea and we ran with it. After school twice a week we would invite local business owners and entrepreneurs to come in and speak about their business or anything involving entrepreneurship. It ended up being a hit and by the end of the year the room would be packed to listen to the speakers we brought in. Once I saw the course option available at the University of Florida I knew I had to register and that’s the reason why I am in this class today.
